Grouting is done.

I just finished the grout and did my final wash.
The tiles are still wet in these pictures. I used a grout that is stain resistant and doesn't need sealing, it is actually a sanded epoxy I used the same stuff in the kitchen and just love it.
I still need to put in the baseboard tiles, but I wanted to get this part done and cured before doing that so that it would be easier to do.

Tiles, tiles, tiles.....

I did the tiling tonight after work, I just finished up. I will grout on Saturday. Hopefully we can get the toilet and sink in by Tuesday and then it will be a fully functional bathroom again. We still have trim to do, but I feel like we are making progress.

Painting is done!

So I got the final coat of paint done. We are going to put in crown molding so I will have to paint that, but the major painting is done.
I also installed the new light and hung up the mirror.
I couldn't wait to see how the tile was going to look so I laid down a couple to get a sneak peak. I still haven't decided how I am going to lay them out, but I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Texture and paint

I got the texture put on today, I decided to go with the easy way so I bought spray cans of wall texture and sprayed it on, it was so much easier than the way I did the other bathroom. Once that dried I got the first coat of color on, it is a purplish color called Irish Tea, in the picture it looks more brownish. I am just waiting for paint to dry right now so I can put on the final coat, next will be tiling the floor.

Let the painting begin.....

I got a coat of primer on the walls and ceiling and I think we have decided to do a little texturizing to hide the flaws. I also got the ceiling fan light installed over the weekend so I should be done going into the attic, whoo hoo! I was hoping to be farther along by this point, but as they say, Rome wasn't built in a day, but this isn't Rome now is it?

Drywall is in.

Craig started putting in the drywall yesterday, we got a little sidetracked when we went to Lowe's to pick up the drywall and ended up coming home with a new table and chairs for the back deck. So we didn't get it done yesterday, but got right to it today.
Here is our new outlet and switch.
This week we will get the seams taped and the screws holes filled and hopefully will be able to paint by the end of the week so I can get the tiling done over the next weekend. I went to Lowe's today and got the tile and adhesive, but after that I spent the entire day cleaning our disgusting garage. I am so glad I did though because now it is so nice and clean and even smells good.

The tub is in!

The tub and surround are in and look great!
Here it is getting filled up with water, you can see all of the pipes for the whirlpool. The jets work amazing, we are never going to get Carina out of this tub.
Here it is with the front panel on. We are going to start sheet rocking tomorrow and then I will tile the floor, then it's just the toilet and sink-whoo hoo!

Weekend progress on the 'ol bathroom

Well, as you can see we spent the weekend working on the bathroom. Craig got all of the rotten flooring out, which left us with a small plank to walk across.
We got a nice view of the crawlspace as well.
Finally the floor is back in and the back wall is painted, not for aesthetics, but to kill the mold and mildew, we used a primer that was made for that purpose.
I also got most of the wiring finished. The wiring in this house is very funky, the fixtures are so intertwined throughout the house that if you don't wire the new fixture right then none of the fixtures in the rest of the house work, so it took some trial and error to get it right, the new vanity light and new exaust light are on existing wiring. I put in a dedicated GFCI plug for the new whirlpool tub and another GFCI outlet by the where the sink will be, this bathroom did not have any outlets before these are now on a new circuit. I also put in a new switch that will operate the vanity light and exaust light, the old switches where on the outside of the bathroom and I put this one on the inside.
